With the well water conservation strategies , we can save half the supplied water , particularly in the developing world - mega cities. Besides above mentioned ( by Robert) , following conservation strategies can also be considered; a.  Ban on fresh water use in construction industries, 16% of fresh water is being used in construction  activities. Instead , primary treated wastewater can be used in plain cement concrete construction activities. b.  Reuse of treated wastewater for car washing activities at car washing stations. c.  Aggressive and sustained behavioural change communication strategies for water conservation. d. Wastewater generation metering at domestic levels These activities can bring a quantum change in conserving water in urban areas.
